The Gubin Forest District lies on the area of beautiful, scenic landscape. The lands are connected with a well developed road network There are large forest complexes within the scope of activity of the Forest District. Apart from the beautiful landscape, the Gubin Forest District can also boast its nature and touristic attractions. Because of the proximity of the neighbouring Germany, the Forest District is often visited by foreigners.

The Gubin Forest District is rich with protected, rare and endangered species of animals and plants.

Significant part of the Forest District lies in the borders of protected landscape areas and Krzesin Landscape Park (Krzesiński Park Krajobrazowy). There are two Nature reserves(Dębowiec and Uroczysko Węglińskie), natural monuments and Natura 2000 network areas.

The lands of the Forest District also hold a forest and education trail "Dzikowo" which leads through the most attractive landscape parts of the Forest District.

What is more, the Gubin Forest District has a network of hiking and cycling trails, as well as a Euroregion trail and a horse riding trail.

A great number of interesting places in the Gubin Forest District make it a special place for each and every tourist.

"Promocja współpracy transgranicznej Nadleśnictwa Gubin i Landratsamt Bautzen Kreisforstamt"

Nadleśnictwo realizuje projekt pod tytułem "Promocja współpracy transgranicznej Nadleśnictwa Gubin i Landratsamt Bautzen Kreisforstamt". Partnerem projektu ze strony Saksonii jest Landratsamt Bautzen Kreisforstamt (Powiatowy Urząd Leśny Bautzen ) z siedzibą Kamenz.

W ramach projektu zmodernizowano stronę internetową Nadleśnictwa, na której przygotowano informacje o partnerach projektu w trzech wersjach językowych: polskiej, niemieckiej i angielskiej.

Na nowych stronach można znaleźć ciekawe wiadomości o lasach, przyrodzie i atrakcjach turystycznych. Niezbędne informacje jakie trzeba znać poruszając się po lasach, aktualności i ciekawostki oraz zapowiedzi najciekawszych wydarzeń. Stronie towarzyszy piękna szata graficzna, która zachęca do odwiedzania lasów.

Projekt przyczynił się do nawiązania i rozwoju współpracy z leśnikami z Saksonii, i wniósł dużo nowego do wzajemnego zrozumienia leśników polskich i niemieckich.

Dnia 9 kwietnia 2014 roku w Centrum Spotkań Polsko-Niemieckich w Wymiarkach odbyło się spotkanie partnerów projektu, które było kolejnym etapem rozwoju tej modelowej współpracy.
