Hodowla lasu
Silviculture is one of the most important and the most complicated branches of forest management. It includes a range of nurturing procedures and renewals, patterned after natural processes. Pine is the dominant tree species in the Gubin Forest District. It grows on 92% of the area. Other species occurring in the Forest district are: spruce, oak, birch, alder, larch and beech Every year, an area of 250 ha in the Forest District is picked for forestation. Foresters employ a number of procedures aiming at ensuring correct forest growth.
Saplings are bred in the forest nursery in Gębice. Saplings, trees and shrubs are bred mainly for internal use of the District. The production volume depends largely on the scope of planned silvicultural works (aforestation, tree planting etc.). The area of the nursery is 9.97 ha. The production area is 7.61 ha.

Nadleśnictwo Gubin informuje o unieważnieniu postępowania na opracowanie dokumentacji projektowej dla zadania pn. „Renaturalizacja użytku ekologicznego Tatarak oddz. 245 g leśnictwo Kaniów” nr 14-03-1.2-01.
Postępowanie unieważniono z uwagi na przekroczenie środków finansowych przeznaczonych na realizację zamówienia. Pełna Informacja znajduje się w załączniku."

Zadanie realizowane jest w ramach ogólnopolskiego projektu adaptacji lasów do zmian klimatu (MRN3) i obejmuje działania z zakresu małej retencji, w szczególności budowę progów piętrzących w celu poprawy stosunków wodnych na obszarze torfowiska.
